Rash in groin area

I've noticed over the last 6 months I've developed a rash in my groin. It seems to be were both of my legs meet my torso, about from the back of of the testicles to two thirds of the way up my pubic hair, and then across just above my penis. It seems to be getting larger in area as well. If anyone else has had anything like this let me know what it turned out to be.

Re: Rash in groin area

Sounds like this could be a heat related rash. Do you sweat alot there? Is the rash red and does it cause any pain? Drop a reply back and we'll keep talking about it, I think I've had something similar!

Virgo Guy,

I can't say for sure without seeing it but...

This sounds like "tinea cruris," a common fungal infection. There are a number of over-the-counter options for you, you might just ask a pharmacist.

Take care,

Re: Rash in groin area

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, it is red. I don't normally sweat alot there, only if having sex, or if I have been very active physically. I have noticed at these times, as well as when I take a long hot shower, that the rash is alot more red in color, and very noticeable. However I do not feel any itching or burning or anything.

It sounds a little like jock Itch. Get some cream for Jock Itch from the drug store and apply it to the infected area then use Johnsons Baby Powder with cornstarch and it will feel good again in a couple of days.

im glad you posted this. i have something similar. i had it for a long time, it never ever bothered me. but gets redder when i shower, or do anything pretty active. i been so scared to tell anyone or go to a doctor tho. its been with for... maybe 6-7 years. it doesnt itch, or anything. but it definitely has grown since i first had it. what should i do?
