Contact with potential Asbestos Ceiling
Hi all,

Roughly 3 years ago I took up a part time job maybe 2 days a week for 8 months and on occasion I may have only done 1 day. During this time I worked in an old garage which supposedly had asbestos ceiling tiles. I wouldn't of said they were all damaged but a couple were visably broken in places, in half that is.

Factors I considered before worrying like mad were that during this time the large lock up doors were being kept open throughout the day which may have helped keep it ventilated.

Does anyone know of the seriousness of this sort of exposure?

Thank you in advance, I need some sort of reassurance as I'm only 21 and don't like the thought of developing an incurable illness at the age of 40 :s.

Re: Contact with potential Asbestos Ceiling
No one can say for sure that you risk is zero. However, victims of mesothelioma typically have a lifetime of workplace exposure, every day for more than twenty years. You don't get mesothelioma from the kind of exposure that you describe.
