Question How soon after?

Hi all, I'm new to this particular board. I had a D&C about a month and a half ago when my U/S showed no heartbeat at 16 1/2 weeks. My husband and I handled the shock well, and are now anxious to try again. When I left the hospital, they told me to wait about 3 months before we try again. I'm sure that my body won't 'get' pregnant unless my hormone levels are right, but I'm concerned about having the ideal environment in my uterus to prevent this from happening again. We already have a healthy 1 1/2 yr old son, where the pregnancy was extremely easy with no complications so I know that we can do this....I'm just concerned about when to start trying again....

any comments or experiences?

thank you,

Re: How soon after?

Sorry for your loss...

I guess you can start when you Dr tells you to and when you feel ready. You may want to let your body rest a bit. Most dr's tell you wait until you have had 3 good AF's then start trying again..

take care and baby dust to you...

Re: How soon after?

I'm very sorry for your loss. My Dr. said 4 months so it looks like 3-4 is the normal recommendation.

The very best of TTC luck to you!!!!!

Re: How soon after?

I lost my son at 36 1/2 weeks, and got pregnant 4 months later with my daughter who is now 8 1/2 months old. I think at least 3 or 4 months, or whenever you feel emotionally ready. Good Luck to you.

Re: How soon after?

Well my doctor told me the same thing to wait 3 months...Needless to say. I'm pregnant again. I had my d&c on Jan 25th '06, and I think I got pregnant around Mid Feb or so.

I'm currently 14 wks along and everythings going good so far
