1st Af after miscarriage

I miscarried on May 14th it was a natural miscarriage. I have not had AF yet. Is that normal.
I'm also trying to get a referral to an Ob to make sure there is nothing wrong wiht me that caused the miscarriage. The OB won't see me because I'm not pregnant????Gee, thanks alot. the secretary reommended a gynecologist for me. I'm so confused!!!!
I'm worried that there's something wrong. I did have a transvaginal ultrasound and the tech said there was no tissue left over so I don't know what's going on.

Re: 1st Af after miscarriage

I'm so sorry for your loss. I also had a natural m/c on 2nd may.

it is totally normal for your AF to be up the wall for a while. This could take up to 8 weeks to return - depends on the individual.

Also normal for dr's not to want to investigate the m/c on the first or even 2nd one. Sad but true that they only really look into recurrent m/c's.

But the good news is that there is a high % that we will go on to carry a baby full term.

If you have been having unprotected sex and think you may be pregnant again already then i'd suggest asking your Dr for a HCG blood test to see what yoru levels are. They'd do them after 2 days again to see the increase or decrease of levels - normally they'll double if you have a healthy pregnancy.

Re: 1st Af after miscarriage

My sympathies,

I had a m/c and had to have an ERPC. The DRs also told me that after a m/c it would normally take 4-8 weeks but not to go back unless AF didn't appear by 12 weeks!! It all depends on how quickly your HCG levels drop back to ~ zero, and how far along your PG was. I'm at almost 2 weeks now since ERPC so I may have a long wait ahead.

I also suggest getting your HCG tested, at least you would know whats happening and what stage you are at in your recovery.

Good luck - THINK PINK

Re: 1st Af after miscarriage

When I had my missed miscarriage last January and had an ERPC my period came back to its normal cycle before 6 weeks.
After ERPC which took place on 13th Janury I bleeded for about 20 days then got my period around the 21st of February and continued with my normal 28day cycle as if nothing had happened.
