Feeling Scared & Nervous :(

I am hoping someone can offer me some advice.

I was due to start my period on July 2. Nothing came. On July 3, I had some very brown spotting when I wiped. This has continued through today--July 5. I am not experiencing any cramping, but I have had blue veins showing up around my breasts.

Normally when I start my period, it is bright red and very heavy through the first few days, so what I am experiencing is NOT a normal menstrual cycle for me.

I just took a pregnancy test today, and it came back with a BFN. I am wondering if it's possible to have delayed implantation bleeding (???).

I called my doctor and he said to not worry about it, but my biggest fear is that I am actually miscarrying. Is miscarriage blood normally brown and spotty? Mine is so light it won't even show up in my underwear or on a pad. It's only when I wipe. Please let me know if you think there is any thing else I should do. Thank you so much!

Yes, it could very well be implantation bleeding. You can still miscarry with no cramping, but it's a good sign that you don't have any. I was pregnant with twins and lost one, I didn't have any cramping or bleeding, but I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't bleed this early in a pregnancy if you miscarried. Mine just absorbed and I was between 5-7 weeks. It doesn't matter what your dr. says you're going to be nervous until you know for sure, but try to trust that he/she knows what he's talking about.

I think I would wait a few more days and do another hpt. Sometimes it takes a little longer to get a positive result.

Re: Feeling Scared & Nervous :(

I'm not inclined to think it's implantation bleeding, esp since it's lasting so long. To answer your question though, both my m/c's started off with light brown spotting that got progressively heavier over a weeks time and then turned pink, then red. Strangely enough, since my first m/c, every period now starts off with that same brownish spotting for a few days before the heavy flow begins. If it were me, I would just call it a weird period for now, but if it continues like this for several more days, then I would test again. Who knows? Maybe a little bean is digging in!!!

Good luck sweetie.
