having a bad day..

Well, here I am at work & the Dr's office calls me..
The day before I had my D&C I called my sister's Dr to ask his opinion on what I should do, have a D&C or wait to m/c naturally. He basically said it was my choice, but said if I had a D&C it would show if it was fetal tissue or molar tissue, because I was concerned it might have been molar b/c my hcg level was so high, he also told me to have a genetic work up done too if I was going through with the D&C just to see if it was chromosonal or not. Anyway, my dr had said I had a blighted ovum, and genetic testing would not show anything because there was no baby in the sac.
Well it's been almost 5 weeks, the dr's office just called me because the genetic testing was back.... it had 46 normal chromosones, so the nurse said they call it a normal miss, and then she asked me if I would like to know the sex of the baby...
It was a girl
I know it would not matter what it was, but it just brought me back to square one..

I'm so sorry Sweet. I know this must stir up sad emotions that you were already starting to work through. Bless your heart. But I'm a little confused. How come they are calling it a normal miscarriage when the chromosomes were normal? Wouldn't that mean you have something else wrong causing the m/c's? Sorry if I'm wrong and this makes you worry for nothing, but I'm just concerned. I don't want you to have to go through any more m/c's again. I know how bad they hurt.

Take care of yourself, we're here if you need us.

Re: having a bad day..

Hi Believe,
I was wondering the same thing, I don't know what it means, the nurse called me, not the Doctor himself. I asked the same thing.. then what was wrong?? She said she would have the doctor call me back to answer any questions I might have. She went on to tell me that she had 2 m/c's herself & they both had the same diagnosis as mine, nothing wrong chromosone wise, and that she went on to have healthy pregnancies & children.
I appreciate your concern & I will keep you posted on what I find out when the dr does get back to me. Maybe something with an organ or something? Whatever it is, it's just so hard to deal with & it brought me right back to square one.
I can't wait until we are all posting each other on the pregnancy boards.

So sorry. It must be very difficult to hear all that info- and make it harder to come to terms with.

Wow your post made me cry for some reason. I think it would be so hard to know the sex of my babies. Yes, that would bring me right back to that new pain because it makes it all the more real. I am so so sorry you are feeling this way.
