    re-occuring?

Hello, I was diagnosed in August with Mono (EBV). I felt terrible, couldn't stay awake and most other symptoms. It got better in November for about a month (except for the fatigue)then came back in December just as bad as in the beginning.
Has anyone else had this problem? I am hoping it isn't something worse but I am getting sick of feeling so bad all the time.
I am over 50 so maybe that is part of it.

Hi January, welcome to the boards.

I'm sorry you have gotten this. I, too was over 50 the first time I got it and yes, your age may play a factor in how long it is taking to get over it.

It's been hard for me, and for a friend of mine, also in the same boat.

Is your doctor supportive? Are you able to rest? Or are you trying to go to work through this?

    Re: re-occuring?

    hi,
I have a great doctor who is very helpful but not much she can do. I unfortunately am working through it. I took one week off when I first got it and didn't know what it was but nothing since. It is very difficult to get through the day.
If it gets any worse I am going to look at some time off to get better.

The only way to really get rid of it is to rest. I'm surprised your doctor hasn't signed you off work for awhile. Why don't you go on temporary disability?
