Re: Many with MS test positive for Mycoplasma infection

Does this infection cause the sed rate to be increased? Mine has been increased since before I started showing signs of MS and since I have had signs of MS. The drs. can not find out why. The sed rate basicaly just says that there is an infection somewhere in your body and is nonspecfic. I have been to a rheumologist and been checked for RA, and Lupus, Lymus, etc. and I don't have these. I was just wondering if this infection could be it .
    Thanks

Yes, mycoplasma increases the sed rate. I can cause rheumatic tests to show positives. The Bacteria is more like a virus and attaches to your cell and lives of them. They even get inside your own white blood cells. To kill mycoplasma you have to take antibiotics for a LONG time- months and months.

Do you have joint pain, eye redness or pain, sensitivity to light, muscle pain, anxiety/depression?

I had trembling! I started long term antibiotics and that went away!!!!

check more of those web sites sites.

ask your doc about PCR tests for mycoplasma.

Spinal taps are done to check for infections. Wouldn't that mycoplasma infection show in testing of CSF?
