    Twitchy tongue?

    Does anyones tongue ever twitch?

This may be a strange question, lol, but for the past month my face has been twitching all the time.
Started with the eyelids than spread to the corners of my lips and now it has reached my tongue.

It is one of the strangest sensations I have ever felt!
The whole tongue does not twitch, only parts of it and it feels soo strange.
The closest description I can give is that it feels like there is a piece of thread attached to my tongue and someone keeps tugging on it.

It is not uncomfortable at all but still something I can't ignore.

I also keep getting these chills on the left side of my scalp, prickly sensations and I don't know if these are related in some way.

Anyway I decided to throw this question out there and see if anyone else has ever felt this.

    Take care and God bless!!

    Hi Albertagirl,

I get a twitchy lower left eyelid.
Its annoying at best and makes me self conscious when Im facing and talking to someone. My wife reckons she cant see it moving but I checked it out in the mirror the other night and I could certainly see it jumping around.

I get all sorts of prickly sensations in my left thigh and every so often I get "compass pricks (well thats my pet name coz it feels like someones jabbed my unexpectedly with a sharp scewer.

I get them in every part of my body with no particular pattern...and I mean every part.....thigh, toe, scalp mainly .

I just put it down to MS

I don't get a twithcy togue, but my eyelid, back, hand, arm, foot etc... do. One time my finger twitched and my whole finger moved also my foot did the same thing. It's a wierd feeling. My doc put me on zanaflex to help with muscle tigntness and she hopes it will work for the twitches, if not I get to have an EMG. My prickly sensations have mostly gone now. I just get the stabbing one. I don't have any particular cold spot, I'm just always cold. But I'm just a Texan that got moved up north.

My tongue has vibrated and twitched. I get lots of activity above my shoulders. I have my lips, chin, cheeks, tongue and eye lips (upper and lower) twitch. I also have what feels like electrical current running through my right cheek. My lips feel like a ghost is pinching them together. (Well, not a ghost but maybe an invisible person ).

    Re: Twitchy tongue?

I have not had the twitchy tongue thing happen but starting yesterday I started feeling as if my tongue is burning (like when you sip on a hot liquid, but I haven't lately!) The prickly scalp sensation I do get and I'm so excited to see someone else mention it! When I told my doctor (not a specialist) about that, he chuckled and said he had never heard of such a thing. Even if no one knows what is causing it, it gives me some comfort to see that I'm not the only person in the world to ever feel this sensation. Now I won't feel as reluctant to mention it to the neurologist. Thank you for sharing.
