Re: ms and seizures

Sophie. Hi, welcome to the board. I dont know if YOUR seziures are a result of your MS- but I am hearing more and more about people with MS also experiencing seizures; in fact, I had one a few months ago, which scared me to death- and my doctor feels it might have been brought on by my MS symtoms and my eyes, which are notoriously bad. Ive had ON three times.

Are you seeing a Neurologist who will order the proper tests for you? Are you on any MS drugs which need to be reevaluated? Are you aware that there are over 75 different types of seziures and many of them are not MS related?

Youll need to really talk this one thru with a good Neurologist and have some good tests done to get to the bottom of it, seziures can be really scary. They can also be very short lived. I know of some MSers who had them for a week and never had them again!

Let us know what we can do to help you thru this....

Re: ms and seizures

Welcome MS can indeed cause seizures. A neurologist can help you in determining whether your seizure is MS related or not. I went through a period of seizures that were MS related, but it has been awhile since my last one.
MS diagnosed since October 3, 1982
MS onset circa 1977
