What do you do to help fatigue?

I was just wondering what others were doing to help ease the fatigue. I was offically diagosed a little over a month ago. Im in the process of looking for a new neuro because the other one wasnt really helping me. The past week and a half I have been feeling so tired that its hard to stay awake. Before I could manage it with exercise but here lately just 3 hours after getting out of bed I suddenly get so tired its miserable to try to do anything and the feeling will last all day. Its making work really difficult. Ive tried drinking coffee and it does nothing. Im going to go to my primary care doctor next week on my day off. He is the one who first suspected MS and is willing to help me but I would like to go to the appoitment prepared with ideas if medication is needed. My neuro wanted me to try phentermine but I cant take it because I have had history of high blood pressure. If anyone has any tips I could try or if you have found a medication that has helped please share.

Re: What do you do to help fatigue?

msuracer,

There are different medications you can try --

Amantadine
Provigil
Nuvigil
A.D.D. medications

All of the above medication have the side effect of increased blood presure, an increase in heart rate, shaking as well as other symptoms. However, everyone reacts differently to medications.

Re: What do you do to help fatigue?

If I am tired and cannot stay awake, I sleep. If I force myself to stay awake, I only make the next day worse and my recovery from the fatigue requires a longer time. The cycle of fatigue can be brought on by a variety of factors or it could simply be a cycle. You will get through this period and feel better. I know it is not fun!

Re: What do you do to help fatigue?

My fatigue sometimes is horrible and others not too bad. I take Nuvigil on days i work. And also use b12 Complex subliguinal liquid. you put it under your tongue for 30 seconds then swallow. took a little while for it to build up, but amazing after that.
