    Question Sad and confused

Hi all. I have posted a few threads re: MS. I have been diagnosed with optic drusen. My optometrist said that is related to MS. When I google info. I don't see where the correlation is between MS and optic drusen.
It appears that anything the docs I see blame it on MS when they have no answers ie. optic drusen. Does anyone else have this eye problem? I know many of you probably have optical neuritis but this is a different type of eye damage.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

The main difficulty in accepting such a diagnosis is that the optometrist is not an eye doctor. An eye diagnosis needs to minimally come from an Ophthalmologist I think.

Because Optic Nerve Drusen is an accumulation of globules of mucoproteins and mucopolysaccharides that progressively calcify in the optic disc, there is no way that I can see how it can be linked to MS. I did read one study which conjectured about OND being related to ON. ON affects 20% of MSers, but 80% of those with ON never develop into MS. ON was at one time lumped with MS, but it is now separate even with 20% of MSers getting ON or developing MS after ON initially presents.
MS diagnosed since October 3, 1982
    MS onset circa 1977
