MS and Lyme disease

Does anyone here have an experience of treating MS and Lyme at the same time? I am looking at possibly starting avonex in addition to the antibiotics I am on. I am hoping for some experienced peoples opinions. Thanks!

Re: MS and Lyme disease

Sarah1926,

Welcome.

It is not common to have Lyme and MS at the same time. Please ask your doctor to cover what you need to know. If there would be any chance of an interaction, you should opt to get treated for the Lyme first because it is treatable and any debilitating symptoms/effects can be reversed.

With the Avonex you need to monitor your enzyme levels and you have to deal with the injections.

I hope you can hear from someone herein who has experienced the same situation. I had a customer who had Lyme and Lupus at the same time. He was treated at the same time (of course the meds were different).
