hello<i'm a 44 yoa male who was diagnosed back in august by mayo (jacksonville). i was previously diagnosed last march for dm1 but gentics werer negitve. i went to mayo for several weeks of emg and another muscle biopsy and it was concluded that i was a canidate for dm3 (or type x which i new nothing about) after cross referencing my test with others they diagnosed me with dm3. since there are no gene test for dm3,4,5 or x i am @ the mercy of the experts @ the mayo (which i'm fine with) . my question is ,prior to this i was a professional fitness trainer, bodybuilder, triathlete. my life was muscle and now i'm confused with the benifet or detrimet working out has ? can anyone help me know what is ok

In general it is thought to be better in the presence of muscle disease to increase the repetitions and exercise for longer rather than increase the resistance as the aim of exercise in these conditions is to promote fitness and endurance i.e. to keep the remaining muscle fit and active rather than look for any significant increase in strength.
