Re: Anyone with confirmed lgmd?
I am 34, still walking, but I have always been weak, since childhood. I started walking late, about 3 years old, I've got flat feet and spinal curvature, can't hold my back straight... As a child I was inactive, could never run fast or do pullups and was poor at gym and weaker than anyone else in my class. My parents didn't take me to doctors, they thought I was just feeble because of my laziness. Mom would make me do sports, such as skating or skiing, or ball games, I always hated it, it was just torturous for me...
In the last several years I've noticed that I find it hard to climb up stairs or hills, can bike downhill but not up, it's too hard... Can't wear high-heeled shoes or stand on skates, fall down immediately. When mopping the floor or sweeping it I sit on my knees or move crawling, can't do it like "civilized people" do, standing on their feet and bending. When cooking something, I sit, too. Sometimes, not often, though, I have cramps and pains in my thighs at night, after which I have a hard time getting up on my feet, and I have to hold on to the table and then have trouble walking around. But in a couple of days I am kind of back to normal. It happens about once a month or so.
