Nails chipping
 

I have a small problem with the nails on my hands. I don't keep them long, as dirt gets under them easily. I clip my nails short and a week later the nails grow longer than what I wanted them to. Plus, they chip off and sometimes at the very bottom of the nail. Of course, that leads to clipping them down to the quick.

I was wondering if this problem means I have low Vitamin D. As I said, I do not like my nails long, so should I clip them shorter next time to prevent chipping. Anything that will help this?
