    Koilonychia in one thumb only

This has been going on now for around three years.
I only have a "spoon nail" on my right thumb.
It gets very thin and the spoon grows out in around six to eight weeks.
It is actually more like an inverted ridge. like a beau's line.

The nail gets thinner by the indented area and remains normal in front and behind and it slowly grows out towards the edge of the nail where I generally cut it very short or chew it down to the quick!

No pain just an uncomfortable feeling due to the thinness of the nail.

I am looking at it now and the crescent by the cuticle is now like an arch rather than a crescent.

Any diagnosis and cure would be welcome!
