Not sure what is going on...
I began to notice that part of my finger nail had begun to turn a shade of green. Where I have acrylics, I thought it was water below the acrylics. However, I had the nails changed today, and she showed me that the green was in fact under my real nail. She suggested soaking the finger in white vinegar three times a week. After looking around online, it appears that the vinegar is used to treat nail fungus. The nail appears to be detached from the nail bed where the discoloration is, so I am unsure if I should try the vinegar, or make an appointment with my doctor. It doesn't hurt or anything, but I was just curious if anyone has had this problem and if so, does the vinegar work?

You might be having a fungus infection. There is medicine you can get for it at any drugstore, but if they don't work, see your doctor to prescribe something stronger. In the meantime, you will have to leave any acrylics for several weeks until it is absolutely all cleared up.
