Re: Send Money to RED CROSS

Or your local churches. $1.00 of every dollar will be sent. Some of the big charities like the Red Cross only send $.70 of every dollar, the rest is used for "Administration Costs". Prestonwood Baptist Church is one of the major donation centers for the Dallas area, where we now have over 25,000 new citizens. They are receiving loads of goods as well as money. People are driving from 50 miles to donate to this center because it is well known and has an outstanding reputation.

Angry Re: Send Money to RED CROSS

As a person who lives in New Orleans I can say from personal experience DON"T SEND MONEY TO RED CROSS!!!! In the past I have always donated to them during a catastrophe....9/11 or the hurricanes of 2004. But never again. The Red Cross has been such a disappointment in this area...just as much as FEMA. They open relief centers only to close them the same day and move...then promise to open and people line up and they don't show up. It's impossible to get thru on the phone lines for relief money and if you do you may be on hold for 4 hours (happened to us) and now we can't find anywhere to get the cash. The Western Unions now say they aren't equipped to issue the Red Cross money. It's a joke. I'll give all my donation money to Habitat for they know how to come to the aid of people!!!!

Re: Send Money to RED CROSS

I will not be doanting to the Red Cross ever again!!! In my area they have not be fair or easy to get to. And I did try, I spent many many hours trying to talk to a person. Then when I did get through I waited and waited for help only to recieve a letter saying that the emergency was over, sorry.
