Please help - pain is getting worse
About 14 months back I had a car accident. I was stationary and a van drove into the back of me. Initially I was fine but about 8 hours later I was woken from my sleep by intense pain in my neck. I later had a diagnosis of whiplash. I then had pins and needles in my arms/hands and awful tinnitus. The latter has been diagnosed as permanent and it is now worse than ever!
My lawyer got me to see an Orthopaedic Consultant and I was given an MRI scan. On the report it says Saggital and Axial T1 and T2 weighted images - this means nothing to me.
The report says I have hypo intense lesions on C7 and T4 vertebrae. It also adds there is a bony island at C7 with vertebral haemangioma and also vertebral haemangioma at T4.
The pain is getting worse as each day passes and my hand/arms get weaker and weaker. The pins and needles started on the inside of my arms and ran to my ring and small fingers. As time progressed the pain started to get worse in my shoulder blade area and then started near the elbow and ran down my forearm to my middle finger. I now find it hard to grip anything and also to straighten my fingers. At night the pain can be so bad it wakes me and then in the morning my right arm is literally dead and I have to massage it to get the feeling back.
Can someone please explain what this means. Could the MRI result explain the pain I am suffering in my neck and hands/arms or is it unrelated?
Many thanks
