disassociation from limbs and other sensory issues

I am being investigated from a neurological perspective. There are a range of symptoms. I am interested to hear if anyone else has experienced this unusual symptom.
That is; I get episodes which last anywhere from half hour to several hours whereby I feel my limbs (legs and arms) are not really belonging to me. I have full range of movement, but the sensations are dulled and I just don't feel like I am all connected. When these episodes happen I also appear to get heightened sense of hearing, smell and general awareness. ie I start hearing the sound of doors opening etc that normally I would really not pay attention to. When this first happened I thought it might be part of an anxiety reaction. However, I am now doubting this and thinking it could be part of whatever neurological problem I have.
Has anyone experienced this sensation before as part of diagnosed neurological condition.
