Peroneal nerve entrapment

I'm Looking for any recovery stories for my situation. Im 6 weeks post op from Peroneal nerve entrapment at the fibula head (no foot drop). The pain has not gone away.
I'm feeling concerned that we missed something. The EMG only showed slowing around the fibula head. But we only tested the Peroneal nerve. The pain is just relentless... It went right back to hurting down the front of my shin down my leg.
I have to be honest and say the pain can really make you turn inward. It's so hard to deal with everyday life and a 5 yr old. Somedays I feel so distant and lonely. It feels like I'm the only one that has Peroneal nerve entrapment issue.

Hi, I know it has been a long time since you posted, but I am experiencing similar pain. I just had an emg done a few days ago and I go tomorrow to get results and have a nerve block done. The doctor says these are all diagnostic tests. I have had 4 ankle surgeries so at the onset I thought I had problems there again. I had an MRI of my ankle and it is clear. I have had 2 L5/S1 surgeries so we did an MRI on my back and it is clear (some disc degeneration and bone spurs but it is not what is causing my leg pain according to the neurosurgeon). He said I might have an impinged common peroneal nerve and suggested I see a pain mgt. doctor first to see if there is an injection I try before having any surgery. Well..PM dr said no injection to help, only diagnosis. So that is where I am. The pain is down the side of my leg and is sharp from knee to ankle when I walk on it. The more I walk the worse it gets. What did you end up doing? The PM doc said if impinged I will need surgery and if not he wants to put a nerve stimulator on my spine to block the nerve. I have felt bad for so long I am desperate now. I hope and pray you got some relief. Thanks
