    The cause of my neuropathy

I'm 26 years old. I was prescribed paxil in March. It made my hands numb, like two cinder blocks at the ends of my arms. After a disappointing experience with some very derelict health care persons, I tapered off of this medication. My hands never went pack to normal. My finger tips are numb. Sometimes my hands still feel weird
I get lihermette's sign, when I bend my neck and tuck my chin to my chest my whole lower half vibrates. When I exercise this happens, too. But it's more of a really intense buzzing, the more I move the buzzier. It doesn't hurt. Sometimes I get these weird pain spots that feel like I'm getting burned with a cigarette, but that's rare. Anyway. I'm happy I figured out what was going on. Because my grandmother had multiple sclerosis and some of the symptoms are the same so I was a bit freaked out.

And most importantly, an ssri/ antidepressant CAUSED my neuropathy. So no maybe that wont happen to everyone but side effect data is untrustworthy and inaccurate. It could be more common than people are led to believe. I was barely on the pills for 2 months. Anyway, I just wouldn't want anyone accidentally making their situations worse. Antidepressants are really not good for people. They can cause brain damage, not to mention they arent even effective at treating depression. And yknow... permanent nerve damage potential.

If anyone has any suggestions for eating the symptoms via nutrition, daily habit, exercise routine, I would love to know. Thanks!

Re: The cause of my neuropathy

Not all antidepressants are the same for everyone. Depression is invasive and the meds are most times necessary....with therapy.

Have you seen a neurologist? And have you been checked for MS or other possibilities? Have you had a full blood panel done including b vitamins, d, iron, etc?
If MS is suspected, a brain MRI should be pushed for. As well, a Ct of your neck and testing for carpal tunnel syndrome.

Keep us updated on what's going on.
