Feels like novacaine on thumb.....

Almost a week ago I was using scissors and the handle rubbed and irritated the lower thumb knuckle. Immediately one side of the thumb went numb out toward the nail. The odd thing is it still feels numb - like a novacaine shot 6 days later.

Did i pinch a nerve? How do I undo it?

35 yrs old and no other known nerve problems.

Re: Feels like novacaine on thumb.....

You probably did aggravate the nerve going down your thumb. Unfortunately the only thing that really helps is time. It will just take time to heal and for the nerve that was "aggravated" to heal a well. Now, if you don't start to regain sensation after a month then I would go see a doctor. For now don't freak out just be patient.
