Shooting pain

I posted this in another forum but then discovered this one, which may be more appropriate.

Hi, I'm 42. A few weeks back I started getting these shooting pains in the head. Very painful, they last about 5 to 10 seconds. My neurologist thought they were ice pick headaches. However, I discovered that the pain seems to be triggered by my left foot. Left foot, right side of head. All I have to do is lightly brush the side or under the foot and the pain rips through my skull. Oddly, I could be sitting still and get an attack. Last night the pain hit me so frequently I was on the floor crying.

Any ideas? I've also lost about 10 pounds since this started.

Tests done: MRI, CT (both negative). All nutrient levels are normal save for vitamin D, which was a little low, as to be expected.

Re: Shooting pain

It's getting worse, the foot is more sensitive, and now I'm getting shocks in the calf, and tingling in the other foot. Again, the real pain shoots through the right side of my brain. I was on the floor crying the other day. I know it sounds ridiculous. It's to a point where I can feel the tingle on the bottom or arch of my foot, and moments later the pain shoots. Well, at least there's warning, eh?

Re: Shooting pain

Have you seen a Neurologist yet? Lyrica helps reduce the pain from neuropathy and may help. If Lyrica does not alleviate the pain you can try stronger medicine in combination with the Lyrica.
