OCD help - important information for all sufferers , gay ocd , relationship ocd etc..

Hi Guys Chris here from australia ,

Just want to share some facts with my fellow ocd sufferers , who will one day be conquerers ! I still have ocd , i've had it my whole life , and am currently learning to deal with , i don't know what the future holds as life throws anything at you both good and bad !

There were times in the past where i suffered so much i couldn't get out of bed , i thought i'd become a hermit and have to live on my own , i had gay ocd thoughts and relationship ocd .. for many this can be soo tormenting and if you don't get the appropriate help you'll spend the rest of your life blaming yourself ! i've seen 1 psychologist , 1 psychiatrist and finally another psychologist who specialises in OCD and relationship therapy! i'm currently taking luvox and am working through my problems .

The best advice i can give you all is the following !

1. ocd is ranked the 14 th worst disease in the world, it's worse than heart disease why ? because if you dont TREAT it you can have it till the day you die.

2. ocd leads to depression , repetitive unwanted thoughts that are often untrue and seemingly 1000 times worse!

3. i've been told by my psychologist that we all have these thoughts, everyone does it's just we tend to get stuck on them rather than dismiss them as insignificant as others can ( i.e. those without ocd )

4. the things you obsess about most are the things you never want to be even though you think you might eg : gay , pedophilia , relationships germs etc.

now i'm not saying i have recovered , and i'm not saying i won't go through this again but people i just want to let you all know how good it was to get the right advice and strive to get the best combination both therapeutically and mentally

PROFESSIONAL HELP !! ocd is a disease in my opinion that is overlooked by many so many times even psychologist and psychiatrists ! i'm struggling to save every penny each week to see this professional who specialises in ocd and relationship therapy !!

God has also helped me with this so don't give up , i know i can't and don't ever want to ! keep praying and working to find what's right for you !

it's a huge difference having a psychologist who specialises in ocd, the psychologist i found is from australia he has specialised in ocd for the past 15 years and is confident that ocd can be eliminated if not dealt with appropriately in the future! his website is [ removed ] online help may be available but even if he can't help PLEASE find an ocd specialist in your country it will do you the world of good , much better than any psychologist or psychiatrist - don't sit at home or on these sites and obsess , keep fighting until you find what you believe in !

now i don't know what's going to happen to me in the future, truth is i'm still very scared and i still obsess everyday and the gay ocd has lessened so much so that i'm back to watching movies going out seeing my mates , guys i'm working through it and we all should too never ever give please not for me or for us !

The difference now is that i've been told it's not me , it's not us we just have to get the right advice to help us see that's it's not us, as we are missing the chemical that helps this distinction.

no your not gay , no your not a pedophile , your not dying of aids and it's not your partners fault , it's yours ( mostly caused by ocd )

i hope i can help , this guy has saved heaps of relationships and has stopped gay ocd ,, pleasee get help , go out and look for it as it won't come to you !! even if you spend 2 months saving for it ..

btw this is not advertising to promote his website , frankly i don't care all i'm saying is get help, !!!!!!! someone who specialises in ocd even if they are in other countries , it doesn;t matter DO IT !

Good threads, I good to know that people with this specific ocd can get some relief, I know it can be a debilitating problem that sucks the life right outta ya.

Thanks for your inspirational story frank , thanks for giving not only myself but everyone something to look forward too ! thanks for all your advice it really did help and i'm very appreciative of it !

i believe we can all reach an outcome, one we want - but it takes alot of effort, research and persistence. i'm urging everyone not to give up and to get the professional help you need, by that i mean someone who knows OCD inside out ,i'm telling you nothing you say will surprise them ! i ask everyone not to give up even when you have hit rock bottom , and if your worried about wasting money , don't because nothing is worth mental health and a life closer to normality , i'm almost broke , each week i have to budget around my fees , i've been eating cheese sandwiches for the past few months but i don't care bacause i'm fighting towards something and getting the answers i could never find .. you can all do this also please don't ever give up ! thanks again Frank your a true pal
