    Pure O Thoughts

    Hi all,

New to this forum and new to OCD. Just a question - does anyone else ever find their Pure O obsessions focus on their partner, rather than themselves? From what I have been reading online, most obsessions are inwardly focused. I obsess over myself about as equally as I obsess over my fiancÚ... i.e. "what if he has been cheating on me/will cheat on me?" "what if he becomes gay?" "what if he has a terminal undiagnosed illness?"

Anyone feel like this? When my anxiety peaks, my obsessions peak and become more and more "dramatic" and externally focused (i.e. more on my partner, less about myself). Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks

    D.

    Re: Pure O Thoughts

Hi, the thing is that your fiancÚ is a major part in your life so it is normal (for a anxious OCD sufferer) to obsess over it. This obsessions about your fiancÚ in a way are really about you, because you fear of losing him, which is why you are so anxious ( and obsessed). It may look like your obsessions are focusing on the external but really it is about your anxious feelings and thoughts.
    Hope this helps, take care
