That sounds right up the alley of Meningitis. Headache, fever and a stiff neck are the classic symptoms of viral Meningitis. My advice, get to a doctor now where they can run tests.
Meningitis is acutally an infection of the membrane surrounding your brain and other nervious tissues
When left untreated Meningitis can cause permantent dammage to the brain or death. Do not play around when you have those 3 symptoms together! It's not worth it!

Might as well let the workmans comp doc see you before pre-surgery...Call him, tell him what you have.
I, myself, have L-1 through L-5 buldging with the S1 nerve sciatica through my legs.
I had swelling in the neck area and was told it was associated with panic disorders causing the muscles in my neck to spasm out. I agree, workmans comp has been my enemy also. My good old work cancelled my regular health benefits while on workmans comp...so, the Emergency room was my trip and diagnosis....They gave me a shot of valium with followup pills and it went away after a day and a half....
I sure would not ignore the other opinion, but this is what happened to me.....Chris
