I was under the impression that everyone has them. (the bumps) Its just that some people can stick their tongue out father than others so you can see them. I have them as well at the back of my tongue. It cant be anything serious because my doc. never said anything about them.

Do they look like blisters? Are you sure it's not herpes?

Howdy! some bumps are normal.
if you have symptoms of pain or infection,
well, that's another story.
it could be something like a yeast infection (thrush)
where you'd want to gargle with baking soda dissolved in water, several times a day.
it could be other germs, en masse, that require an antibiotic.
the only way to know for sure is to have a doc check your throat.
otherwise, most folks do have some bumpy roads back there...and it's normal.
take care of yourself and listen to your inner voice...see a doc to put to rest any worries!

I also have several large, soft bumps on the back of my tongue, except for one on the left side thats a bit harder. Could this explain why it feels like there is something caught in my throat around that spot?
