    Orange pill before surgery

Hi. Before I was taken to the operating room to have my wisdom teeth removed I was given three tablets to take - 2 white panadeine tablets and 1 large-ish, orange, egg-shaped tablet.
I know the white ones were painkillers, but I would like to know what the orange one could have been.
    Thanks.

    Re: Orange pill before surgery

I just looked in a pill identifier, and came up with the following orange, egg-shaped possibilities:

Xanax is light orange and oval shaped. Xanax would have been given to relax you.

Tolectin (tolmetin sodium) is orange and oval shaped. It's a non-steroidal anti inflammatory, similar to Aleve or Ibuprofen. They would have given that to reduce pain and swelling.

Vantin, orange and oval shaped, is an anti biotic, but it probably wouldn't have been given to you because it's not commonly used.

If you type "pill identifier" into google, you'll find a page that you can use to help you identify the pill. Or, you could call your oral surgeon and ask them!

    Re: Orange pill before surgery

    Hi. Thanks both.
I am sure I remember being told something about taking something to relax now.

Another thing, when I woke up I was still in the surgery room (I think).. I was on the surgery bed in a bright room.
When I woke up everything was bright white.
I can remember it was hard to see and when I rubbed my eyes they were slimy.. like they were covered in Vaseline (KY Jelly, Petroleum Cream).
    What could that be from?

    Thanks.

Were you put under general anesthesia? If so, they may have taped your eyes shut, in which case they may have simply put a little vaseline on your eyelids first to prevent irritation.

Hi. Yes, it was under general anesthesia.

Why do they make your eyes closed?

    Thanks for that.

Whenever someone is put under they tape their eyes closed. I don't know why, but I'm guessing it's so your eyes stay shut and don't dry out. *shrug*
