Question sore/itchy throat...white bumps on tounge

Well, for a week now, my throat has been very sore to the point where i cant swallow food smoothy (it feels like i am swallowing rocks). i have little white bumps on my tounge. There are a lot of bumps on the back of my tounge near the tonsils and there are a couple of scattered white bumbs on the surface of my tounge, and there are a couple of bumps on the tip of my tounge and along the sides. Both my throat and my tounge hurts. When i sneeze or hurts even more...especially when i sneeze. My mom says its strep throat...but when i asked her about the bumbs...she just simply told me to watch what i eat. I am breaking out on the inside of my forearms....i was told it was heat also breaking out on my face and neck (pimples/zits). The break outs are itchy. My family tells me its because my body is not used to the humidity.i moved to a place with no humidity, and im visiting home for three weeks.. this last week i just started breaking out and all....they say thats what it is....but i don't know..does anyone know what it is?

Re: sore/itchy throat...white bumps on tounge

About a 2 years ago I had the same symptoms.... really sore throat and white bumps on my tongue with lots in the back. This is gonna sound really gross, but the bumps started coming off like the top layer of skin on my tongue was shedding. I could rub a paper towel over my tongue and they would come off. The skin underneath was red and sore, kind of like the skin under a blister from a burn.

Anyway, I was really freaked out and went to the doctor. He said it was just a viral infection in my throat. About the time the bumps started coming off, my throat started to feel better. I was over it completely in about 3 weeks. It was impossible to drink any hot beverage while the bumps were coming off because the skin on my tongue underneath was soooo sensitive.

About 1 week after mine started, my daughter got the same thing and the same thing (skin comming off tongue) happened to her. I've had it once or twice since then.

I didn't have any other rashes as you describe tho.

    Good luck!!

Sounds like thrush - if you go to the chemist and ask for something for oral thrush it should help get rid of it.

Babies get this easily because they are always putting things in their mouths.

See how you go at the chemist.
