Hi all,
For a number of years I have had reoccurring red-purplish bumps on the inside of my thighs and on my buttock (never bigger then a nickel in size, always raised-they often leave scars after they subside). Though they were annoying, at times painful and very unsightly they never bust (broke) or caused me any serious harm. I once spoke to an Md about the problem and was told I most likely had Hidradenitis Suppurative (HS), which could come as a result of the fact that I have a poor immune system due to other medical conditions.
However as of late I have been questioning that diagnosis, as my husband has started developing the same sort of large "boil" like bumps on his inner thighs. I know for a fact that neither of us has any STDs. It was my impression that HS is not a contagious condition, so I am wondering if it could be something like Folliculitis, molluscum contagiosum, or something due to Straphylococcus???
I have tried topical creams both medicated and over the counter, placing a hot, damp towel over the bump(s), wearing loose fitting clothes and using anti-bacterial soap, all to no avail.
It never really bothered me all that much, but no that I see my husband affected by what appears to be exactly the same thing I am rather concerned. Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated, thank-you in advance.
Cheers and Blessing
Jess
