Re: - Tonsil Stones -
They're debris from within the tonsils. They would have bacteria in them as all "cleansing" parts of our body do. Think of it as tonsil snot.
If your tonsils are infected, you will know...they will be swollen, sore, and I would think the production of tonsil stones would be more. AS well, infection can cause more crypts, and therefore form more stones.
I started my "closet squeezing" habit when I had chronic infections and noticed a white "thingie" sticking out of my tonsil.....I squeezed it out and was shocked at the crap that continued coming....I was hooked and found a way to limit the amount of stuff in there.
My doc disagreed to take out my tonsils...so I'm stuck cleaning them out daily (those nasty things caught in my gum was the last straw)...
So, yes there could be infection in the stones, but they aren't a sign of infection. They to me are a sign that the tonsils are working tho.
My take on it.
