Muscous thickening in Ethmoid...is it dangerous?

I just read an MRI report that I had done last month. Part of it read: "Mucosal thickening REdemonstrated in the ethmoid sinuses. There has been improvement of mucosal thickening in the frontal and maxillary sinuses since the pervious exam. (1 year ago) I know about the maxillary and frontal sinuses, but not the ethmoid, is thickening in that area dangerous? Does it mean that something is leaking in the head????

The Ethmoid is a bone that is located in between your eyes. It contains a sinus cavity as well, called the "Ethmoid sinus". Your other sinus cavities have cleared somewhat, but there is still congestion in your Ethmoid sinus for which they will treat it. I'm assuming they gave you an antibiotic or something? It's treatable.

No, I don't take anything for it because the doc never told me about it. I just happen to have a copy of the report myself and read it. I wonder if that is what could be causing my one sided feeling of ear fullness at times???

Sure it would. Anytime the sinus cavities are full (any of them), it can cause a feeling of fullness in the ears, light headedness, dizziness and headaches. It sounds like your doctor doesn't feel that your case is severe enough to prescribe an antibiotic. In this case, take an over-the-counter decongestant to help thin the mucous membranes. Apply some warm compresses to the area between your eyes. Drink plenty of fluids (Water is best).
