    Occasional blood on toilet paper

Ok, wasn't sure where to post this, hopefully this is the right spot. I just turned 30, and I would say about twice in the last six months when making a bowel movement, I had bright red blood in the bowl and on the toilet paper. Now, the blood in the bowl didn't amount to much, and looked more like it came with the stool, rather than as a part of it. And as for the toilet paper, the first wipe would come off with an amount of blood about the equivalent of the stool matter that would be on a normal wipe. There has been no pain or discomfort, and my movements vary in size and consistency, as I don't have a very regular diet. I can't think of anything that I ate recently that was out of the ordinary. These two incidents were about a few months apart, and I have never experienced anything like it before. After this latest one, I have had severe stomache cramps, but I believe that is associated with stress, as I tend to have very strong psychosomatic responses to imagined conditions. It will take me a little time to be able to schedule a visit to my primary care physician, and even longer still I'm sure to get an appointment for more thorough exams (ie. colonoscopy). I was basically wondering if the infrequency and apparent freshness of the blood are more indicative of a malignant issue, or less. I see a lot of posts about blood in the stool and on the paper, but I haven't really seen any that only happened twice and had no accompanying symptoms. I guess I'm just hoping someone out there has had the same issues and had it amount to nothing. Oh yeah, after the initial wipe with the blood, there's no more, and that's that, doesn't pop up again, even in the same day. Any response would be appreciated, though I AM in the process of seeking a doctor's opinion, i'm just freaking out over here.

You may have an internal hemmoroid that would cause fresh blood on the stool and you may not have pain due to where your nerves are in there but you also have the stomach cramping which is normally not associated with hemmoroids. You should see your doctor very soon delaying may only make the problem worse and you will still have to deal with the investigative procedure but maybe feeling much worse.

I'm agreeing with Sydney22 here, My first thought is also a hemmaroid. The stomach cramping could be a build up of stools. A x-ray would also show those results , if thats what it is.. Glad to hear yr going to docs...

I guess I wasnt totally clear about the cramping. Basically, I have been pushing kinda hard for the last day or 2 when making a bowel movement, and that caused not necessarily cramping, but discomfort, and the "cramping" is kinda the same discomfort, but it's only when I'm thinking about it. It did not accompany the movement in question, it came hours later after constant thinking and worrying about it. The same kind of thing happened a few years back when I had anxiety attacks and thought it was a heart attack. I had incredible shooting pains in my chest and arm, but as soon as I got checked out, it went away.

October 19th is the earliest I can get in to see my doctor, and I need to do that in order to be referred to a specialist, for insurance reasons. It hasn't happened since, and hopefully won't happen again before then.
