Unhappy Help understanding blood results

I'm new here and posted something similar in another forum but thought here might be more suitable.

I've recently had abnormal bloods and have no idea what they might mean. I don't know the numbers but my bone profile and LFT's were low - alkaline phosphatase and calcium were both under range.

I'm recovering from anorexia (my bmi is 16.5) but I've been eating more recently, trying to gain more weight, and I've never had abnormal bloods before apart from my iron and potassium levels which are both now normal.

I'm really scared that there is something wrong with my because I've had some strange gi issues recently too. But I thought that was just due to the iron tablets I've been taking (I stopped taking them in the end because I felt sick a lot).

I'm going to see my GP on monday, but guess I'm looking for explanation/reassurance in the meantime!

Re: Help understanding blood results

It probably is from the anorexia. Even though you're eating better now, your body's reserves of nutrients are depleted, and only a small portion of the body's calcium is in the blood.

Your doctor will probably discuss other options for nutritional supplementation, and he may want further tests, just to be sure there's nothing else going on.
