I am a 23 year old female of typically good health. About 2 months ago I came down with what I thought was the flu. It went away after 5 days and I was back to normal for 2 and then I started feeling run down, achy, and occasionally nauseous along with what feels like hot flashes. After a month of these symptoms not going away I went to my GP who ordered blood work. The blood work came back normal. My doctor is convinced that this is not a physical problem. She diagnosed me with Dysthymia even though I insisted I was not feeling anxious or depressed. When I insisted that I did not believe it was a psychological issue, she cam back with "we can run more tests but they will come back normal."
I am at my wits end at this point. I am feeling very frustrated and really just want answers. How do I get my doctor to take me seriously? Does anyone else have a similar experience? Please. I am desperate.
