I was camping last night. Cleaning up this morning I grabbed a bag of buns that something had gotten into. It was a little rainy and still wet. When my buddy woke up he asked if I heard the raccoon last night. My only concern is that the hand I picked the bag up with has a cut. Anything to be worried about? Thanks

Re: rabies??

The rabies virus doesn't survive long outside its host and you have no reason to assume that the raccoon was rabid in the first place.

Re: rabies??

If you were going to catch rabies the animal would actually have to bite you. Touching something that it touched is not going to make you sick.
