    tib/fib compound fracture

I am currently recovering from a tib/fib compound fracture. It will be a year in mid august. My doctor has told me there is nothing more he can do medically and that it will slowly get better over the next couple years. I have an intermedullary rod and two screws in my knee area and two screws were taken out of my ankle in january. I don't plan on playing competitive hockey for a couple more years or so but i have played hockey year round for the last 12 or so years and I am getting that itch really hard since it has been over a year since i have last played. I just want to go out on the ice and skate and shoot around. Should i be able to do that??

Thanks to anyone with experience or any doctors that can offer their advice.
