Unhappy full ankle fusion

i went to see my surgical monday to see what is going on with my ankle where i smashed my right foot up 21 years ago where they had to do a part fusion to it and now they have told me a need a full ankle fusion with a pip fusion to 4 of my toes , can anyone out there tell me how long will i be off work for !. i am going in for a op on the 26/09/12 to see if they can try arthroscopy and debridement of the ankle first but have not told me how long i will be off work for. i am only 42 years old and i am trying to find out a bit more about the full ankle fusion because the op i am going in for on the 26/09/2012 is going to delay the full ankle fusion for a bit, can anyone tell me a bit more before i say yes to the full ankle fusion and the pip fusion to the toes
