    Actonel (generic)

I took my first 35 mg tablet at 5 am and its now 7 am. I have had diarrhea the last hour. Could a first dose cause GI issues so quickly?

Yes. Are you sensitive to sulfa drugs? If so, you are not supposed to take this med.

No known allergy. I had read it was a possible side effect but am surprised how quickly the diarrhea hit. I could not leave the house. I can find no info in regards to whether this side effect will pass or not.

What was your bone density score? I find they push this when they really don't need to

Just into the osteoporosis range, -2.6 spine, hips -1.1. I got scared because my spine is a mess with other issues but have decided to try strontium instead and retest in two years.

That's not good. My spine is a mess to: stenosis, bad arthritis, scoliosis with 2 places that have sort of collapsed and spondylitis. But I'm barely into osteopenia. 1.2 spine. Are you on estrogen (bcp or HRT)? Weight bearing exercise? Those can help the score. Good luck!

I am on hrt, since 2018. I walk and was lifting weights but am on hold until I see PT next week. I have bilateral spondlylolthesisis and neuroframinal narrowing and annular tear and disc bulging. I take very easy walks for now but will be happy when pt teaches me what I can do safely!

Wish I could walk - sciatica won't allow much of that.
