    broken bones

In spring of 2004 I slipped on some ice and broke my tibia and fibula. The repair involved drilling a steel rod into my tibia and securing it with screws. The fibula healed along with the tibia.

Last fall I had the screws removed because they were quite iritating. Now it still hurts to walk on hard surfaces. I am trying to decide whether to have the rod removed from the tibia. This, of course, involves another surgery and recovery.

If anyone has any experience with this situation, please tell me about it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: broken bones

I haven't had experience with any broken bones but I'm wondering how do they go back in and get the screws out. I know it's a surgery but can it be done endoscopically?
