Question Height Loss

I have no answers as to what is happening with my health honestly. I just have a question about height loss that I can't seem to find any answers to. At 29 years old I was 5' 2" tall. Now I am 4' 11" tall at 41 years old. Any knowledge about this type of height loss would be appreciated. Every time I do a search it links me to bone loss. I have no apparent skeletal changes. How can a person shrink 3" in their thirties with no skeletal changes?

Re: Height Loss

Hope you find answers. I'm searching as well. I'm 35 and have lost 2" in the last 2 years. Was 5'10" and now 5'8".

Re: Height Loss

I'm much older than you ladies but know what you're talking about.

I've lost one and a quarter inches over the years. I have now been diagnosed with osteoporosis.

You can have (minor) bone fractures of the spine and not know it, and isn't apparent other than height loss.

It might be time to talk to your doctor about this and more than likely he/she will order a BMD test (Bone Mineral Density test). There are meds to prevent and even reverse bone loss.

Wishing you well.
