Enon, congrats on quitting smoking. That's a tough tough road to hoe....been there. Coming up on two years and I know of well of Nico-patch Theatre...drove me nuts though because I never felt rested...it felt like my mind never shut off.

In the end I ripped the patch off and got through on just plain meanness.

    :-)

Hang in and enjoy the show.

    Del.

    Re: oxy and weird dreams...

Have any of you ever woken up confused, thinking you're somewhere else or that you don't know where you are?

I've had a couple of times where I woke up and started to go back to sleep but then had this weird feeling that if I went back to sleep I wouldn't come back to where I am.
It's hard to explain. It's like you know you're home but it seems like home is transitory. That's happened to me a couple of times, where it seemed like if I didn't keep my eyes open and look at my surroundings I would somehow get back in the dream and lose my way back to reality, or that I would go somewhere else.

Of course I always go back to sleep eventually and then wake up fine, but for some weird reason I just get scared to go back to sleep. It's not panic attacks, I had those a long time ago when I was under a lot of stress. Just this weird thing like an out of control dream, not really a nightmare. I don't know what I am afraid of happening really, it doesn't seem like its anything bad, just a sad feeling that I won't come back to the life I lead now.

    Does that even make sense?
When I was in my teens we used to go to old abandoned "haunted houses" on dates, you know, to get scared. Well I started having a recurring dream about this one house we'd go to. A soon as the dream would start I'd try to wake up, because I always had some sort of sense of doom about it. Usually I would dream we were trapped in a tunnel or something and we'd try to get out but keep going in circles, or we'd go up really high floors of the place like the 20th floor, and not be able to get down. Or it would turn into a tall hill we couldn't get to the top of. Then I'd be driving a car in reverse that the brakes wouldn't work. Does this sound like a control problem dream? The haunted house fiinally stopped coming in my dreams as I got older and haven't seen it for years, because as soon as I'd see the house I'd go Oh no I don't want to see this. But I still have the no brakes car dream once in a while.

Does this make sense? Gotta check this board and see if theres a dream section.
I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my zanaflex causes vivid dreams.

Cool Re: oxy and weird dreams...

Yeah me too!! I use oxy for severe headache episodes.. what a nice doc... no really its cause it has no tylenol in it i cant handle tylenol...
I took one before bed, 5mg, and a few hours later i felt as if i'd been abducted or something, really weird, yet kinda interesting and fun in a way. My dreams were scary, then fun,and spooky. I remember i was gambling and winning in mexico, then the iraq soldiers started a war, and the casino gave us all free pepsi, and free money, and furniture... so realistic. later on i learned how to drive an 18 wheeler in my dream. I usually have very strange and vivid dreams, but these dreams were way out there.... like there was a force field over me and i was talking but no one could hear me. I've been told i should write stories based on my dreams, but if i did people would think im really nuts.
And i was able to wake up much earlier than normal which is a plus.
    Sweet dreams everyone!!!

SKR - I hope you don't mind when I say that I just had a good hearty laugh from reading the details of you dream, especially the interjection of pepsi and furniture..

Though from the way you worded things, are you saying you just had the odd dreams from once taking a dose of your Oxycodone? (I'm assuming you meant it was the SA med, as opposed to OxyContin, since you said it was only a 5mg dose) Only because for me the dreams and what not have been a result of continually taking them. Thanks again for the entertaining read

    Re: oxy and weird dreams...

Maybe we should all write a book about pain med dreams--form all these dreams it would be a cool movie for sure-- instead of that book listening to prozac. There are sure enough funny episodes. People probably would get a kick out of it even if they thought we were nuts.

Maybe high dreams or some title --ideas anyone? We could keep this thread going until we get enough material---
