Numb arms hand in the morning, any suggestions?

I have been waking up with my arms numb, hands numb. shoulders stiff almost every morning. It takes me a while to get going.
Anyone have this?
I took my meds an hour ago, my hands still feel a bit numb.
I do suffer from neck soreness, headaches, and soreness in my shoulder- blades.
I take meds for this - soma, and oxy ir 5mg. Taken daily.
Its so hard to get out of bed. Once i take the med and get showered of course i feel better. Just wondering if theres a way to prevent thr numbness in the morning.
I have a wonderfeul tempupedic bed and pillows.
Any ideas advice suggestions are appreciated.
Of course, i will talk to my doc more about this on my next visit.
Thank you from,
'zombie girl'

This happens to me, every night. The longest I can sleep before they wake me is 3 hours. Mine have been this way for years now. All I can do is wait for them to "wake up" and then I go back to sleep. I have a really weird ache in mine while they are waking up, not like if your leg goes to sleep and wakes up.

Re: Numb arms hand in the morning, any suggestions?

I had the same problem for awhile when my neck was really sore and stiff from having so much nerve pain in my face. Eventually it went away, so I hope it is short-lasting for you too. I would bet it is related to the stiffness in your neck as mine was...I don't know why this would be but it's pretty coincidental that we both had the same problem. I only had this numbness when I was taking Tegretol, so maybe it is a medication that is causing it for you. I'm sorry to hear it's bothering you--regardless of the cause, I'd bring it up to your doctor and see if he/she has any suggestions. Good luck!

Hi, Not sure about the medication you are taking, but I had the same problem with stiff shoulder, numb hand and arm. Mine was carpal tunnel and a pinch nerve in my neck. Ask your doctor about it. Had surgery to fix the carpal tunnel and has felt great since, but my hand would fall asleep while I was driving or even holding my hand in a certain way. Make sure you do mention it to your doctor the next time you go. Good Luck
