NERVE STIMULATOR -- Does it work, how much

My cousin has had the temporary trial week done and is awaiting comps final approval for the permenant. According to him, it's a Godsend. Has had severe nerve damage and pain for several years and nothing else has helped. He said he could feel the relief while still on the table.

Shawley is a good source. He has many post threads here. Also, there is a Stimulator board on this site. Go back to Health Issues and scroll to the S's and you will find it. Lots of good info.

I had the 1 week trial and I ended up with a UTI while on antibiotics (I've never had a uti before that) so they had to remove everything the following week instead of completing the implant as my body would have rejected the device itself. All I do know is that it has worked for many, the device is now much smaller than a year ago and wayyyy smaller than several years ago. Check out that other site on this board and good luck to you!!

Also do a search on this board for stimulators, the back problem board and the restless leg board as well. Shawley, even makes a recommendation. He has the medatronic one and he recommends one that begins with a "B"

The "B" brand gives back and leg coverage. The medatronic tends to only give leg coverage and I believe the third brand is ANS and it is not at the top of the list.
