    Chronic Pain Medication

I have been taking Lortab 10/325 for several years to treat chronic kidney pain, and now it is not as effective. What other medication would be effective for a longer time?

Welcome to Healthboards. Many here have a lot of different experiences and thus, can offer lots of support and guidance.

There are a number of different long acting (LA) pain meds, broken down by active ingredient:
    • Oxycodone- Oxycontin
    • Oral Morphine- MsContin, Avinza, Kadian
    • Fentanyl- Duragesic Patch, Mylan Patch, Watson Patch, Teva Patch, & Sandoz Patch
    • Oxymorphone- Opana ER
    • Methadone

Your Doctor will know which med is best for your particular situation.

    Regards,

    Ex

    Re: Chronic Pain Medication

just what is causing your chronic kidney pain? ex gave some really great suggestions up there, any of which would be good for what you are dealing with, espescially since none of them actually contain tylenol either. depending upon just what the real cause is of your kidney pain, these alternatives would be much healthier for your kidneys too. tylenol simply DOES impact the kidneys as it does the liver as well.

but knowing why you are having the kidney pain would help. marcia
