Chest pain when lying horizontal.

Sounds crazy I know, but in the last week or so, when i lay down or go to sleep, i always get chest pain. soon as i get up, it starts to get better. Once, I was sleepy, but my chest hurt so bad, i to get up and try to sleep in a chair!

Re: Chest pain when lying horizontal.

Could be gastric reflux disease where the acid from your stomach go's up to your esophagus when your lying down, causing you the chest pain. When you get up, the acid has a better chance ( due to gravity), of draining back down to the stomach where it belongs. This is also known as "heartburn". But it could also be something more serious, so I would have it checked out by your physician. In the meantime, try not eating an hour or two before lying down. And avoid greasy, fried, spicy and sweet foods...janiee
