What do you do to deal with your panic attacks?

Just curious what everyone here does to deal with their attacks.

I have a MVP and like most other's with this heart problem, i've developed panic attacks. My current (and first) one has lasted 5 weeks and now i've got a cold ontop of it. I haven't done anything but sit here for this time period in the dark with my blinds shut (visited a doctor twice, they assumed it was the flu).

Finally i decided to open up my blinds this morning and take a nice hot shower. This worked wonders for me, i feel so much better afterwards (however, still sick with a cold).

Unfortionately, when i start feeling better with this, i wake up the next day extremely nausious, dizzy, and with a racing heart. I can't figure out why it's only when i wake up. After being awake for around 8 hours i start feeling better, but for those first 8 hours of being awake, i feel absolutely horrible. Any reason why?

    Dear O 7464 67247 2,
You are most likely to get panic attacks at rest. That is when you have let your guard down and your mind is not consumed with other thoughts to keep the panic at bay. It is also common to have panic symptoms and attacks while you sleep. I have had attacks in my sleep while dreaming and came out of the sleep with no change in the on going attack symptoms. It seems that when you are consumed with things going on that your symptoms are less. When you finally tire out and this may take days or weeks, you start having symptoms. It is like a roller coaster with ups and downs. Everyone says that when you are stressed or have to much to do that you need relaxation to relieve this. Sometimes I think this is the opposite with panic disorder, because this is usually when it hits you. Don't know why this happens at rest or sleep, other then because you have no control over your thoughts at that time. Just how it works for me. Hope you feel better, being sick with a cold or anything else on top of it is hard to deal with. Sometimes you can't tell if you have the flu or it is just a mimac of the symptoms from panic disorder. A brain trick only, that is harmless. Good days ahead I hope.

    Sincerely,

    Sickman

I see, makes sense, I have been having pretty strange dreams lately (never usually dream). Most of them deal with me running away from something, such as the cops, or just regular people chasing after me. These seem to have stopped, but i'm still having vivid dreams, now i can make a little sense of these.

By the way, the name is Chris, it'll save you alot of trouble when greeting me.
