| What symptoms do you have with your attacks?
I was just wondering what everyone's "list" of symptoms were when they have a panic attack, when they occur most often (time of day), how long they last (hours, days, weeks, etc) and the frequency with which you usually experience them (ie; twice a month, etc). Here's mine...
I usually have them several dozen times per year but can go several months without them until they suddenly pounce on me out of the blue. Mine never occur in the morning but usually come in the very early evening (I'd say around 5-7 o'clock and last until I take a Xanax (otherwise, they just don't go away - period). They usually come and go for 4-6 days and then dissapear until they decide to put in an appearance again.
My symptoms are almost always the following...
1) Tightness in throat, "lump" in throat, difficulty swallowing, constricted-throat sensation, etc
2) Feeling of dread and doom like I just KNOW I am dying from a horrible disease for which there is no cure.
3) Feeling edgy, jittery, jumpy, nervous (sometimes irritable).
4) Sometimes noises make me jump out of my seat.
5) Neck pains, sharp (but minor) pains in my head that come and go.
6) Adrenilin "surges" that shoot straight up through me (very scary!)
7) Foggy, "anesthetized brain" feeling
8) Shortness of breath/can't take a full breath
9) Pure FEAR
10) Depression - sometimes like there's no point to life (ie; eat, sleep, work, grow old and die...what's the point?)
I guess that about it. What is everyone else's symptom list?

I have most of your symptoms. Except I want to live and am afraid of dying. This is due to losing my brother three months ago. I get the jitters and the adrenaline surges and yes, they are tremendously bothersome. I try to breath through it, to break the panic attack. Start grounding, like say to yourself, here is the t.v, the coffee table, the walls are white, etc. Or you can look outside and say the trees are beautiful, the grass is a beautiful green, just keep grounding and say positive wonderful things, if you can.
I tend to have muscle tremors, muscle twitches and I know that adrenaline surge is horrible. It's a part of the panic. You aren't going to die though but when it happens, I know you can feel that way. Also, if you do not have the desire to live, please by all means, go talk to someone. I want to live badly, so when I have a panic attack I think I'm in dooms land and fight myself and body badly cause I want to live for me, and my daughter.

When I feel an attack coming on I feel:
Tightness in my chest
Slight dizziness and spaciness
On the verge of passing out, but never do
Sometimes numbness in the back of my head and front of my teeth
Begin to breathe quicker
Light Sensitivity (this one really bothers me especially since I work with fluorescent lighting everyday)
I do not have panic attacks everyday like I use to, just every once in a while. Mine usually come on at work, so when I feel these things coming on, I try to work thru them with the help of some Klonopin.
In the beginning of my panic disorder, my attacks were a lot worse than these symptoms. I experienced pretty much the same things as everyone else, especially the fear that I was dying.
Take care everyone!

The symptoms I seem to get is ALL OF THE ABOVE. And then you have the sideaffects from all the damn medication your taking.
Shortness of Breath
Severe Headaches and Muscle Aches
Vomiting
Lightheaded or Dizzy
Nervous or Paranoid
Fear of Passing out or Dying
Shaky and Nerve Spasms ( an internal shock wave pretty much )
Insomnia
Feeling of Choking or Not able to Swallow
Chest Pains
Heart Racing
Loss of Apetite
IBS and Ulcers
Acid Reflex
and the list goes on........
I hope everyone will be able to recover, can be hard to deal with especially when you have a routine with working or raising kiddos. Good Luck to all.

Heart palpitations (as in skipping beats)
Feelings of despair
Feeling like emotional life or physical life is coming to an end
Chest pain
Hyperventilation
Chest tightness, feels like you can't breathe enough
Weakness
Blacking out
Severe shaking
Intestinal spasms (just painful, not that I need to go to the bathroom)
Dry mouth
Tight throat and inability to swallow
Restless, always touching face and neck obsessively
Nausea (my worst symptom grr)
Dizziness/lightheadedness
Obsessive thoughts
Lack of concentration
Heightened senses
Muscle tension
Numbness in face sometimes
All I can remember. GAD causes the following:-
Insomnia and therefore pretty bad fatigue
Appetite loss (I lost 3 stones last year lol)
Irritability/sudden mood changes that I hate
Inability to eat small amounts(I am getting over this slowly but surely though)
Intense stomach pain and nausea
VERY intense intestinal spasms
Paleness
This is all I can remember

I know abour those shakey nerve spasms going through the body. They are with me all the time, but when the adrenaline surges, look out. I just want to tremble all over and wondering if I'm even standing or walking, LOL Not funny, but have to laugh to break the anxiety spaz here and there.

Well, I don't know why I keep the tremors, but like I said they are with muscle exertion, but I will tremble without during an attack. I think mine is from an overbundance of adrenaline at times and also do to hormone changes in my body. Also, carrying around anxiety throughout the day.

It sounds like everyone has a horrible list of symtpms.
Mine are:
*Hyperventalintation (sp?)
*Dizzyness
*Shaking
*Nasuea
*Retching
*Heart pounding
*Pins and needles/ tingling (sometimes all over, sometimes just hands and feet but I hate it on my face. It's weird)
*Feeling of absolute terror
*legs like jelly.
I'm not sure what else. I can't really remember. They tend to differ anyway.
Take care all xx

Take care all xx | I know how you feel and taking the anti-depressant seems to make me feel more anxious lately. I wanted to puke this morning too. Thinking about taking a pinch of Xanax. Now, do you feel these symptoms most of the time, or do they come and go. The most I feel all the times is the shakiness or trembles. I can't get into the Psych until the 21st, first have to see the therapist and I'm already going to a therapist. But I have to follow there program. So there it is. So tell me, do you have most of these symptoms all the time? It feels like you are overburdened with adrenaline, doesn't it?

extreme shaking of my legs and arms
nausea
dizziness
feeling like I can't be around anyone
they always come at night
I used to get them about every other night, but since I have been on Paxil I don't get them very often, but the medication seems to have made me depressed.
